Transport Options (Delhi – Dehradun – Delhi)

For travel to Dehradun and back one can choose between air, rail & road. For air travel, the closest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport (at Dehradun) and is well connected to Delhi and other parts of the country by Air India, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines & Spice Jet. Train travel is highly recommended with enough options being there. For train details, you could log on to www.indianrail.gov.in and for online railway ticket bookings you could log on to www.irctc.co.in .

There are frequent Public Transport buses including Volvos available from Delhi to Dehradun that cost about Rs. 300-700 per person. These buses depart from Delhi ISBT every 30 mins. or so and take about 7 hrs to cover the distance. The same is also applicable on the return journey. A private vehicle could also be arranged for if you require the same.

Weather Details

As the season starts in March there can be snow along the trail which generally melts by the end of March. Days are going to be sunny and moderately warm (16-25 °C) throughout the summers while the night temperature at the highest campsite would be in the range of 8-16 °C. In the monsoon months this area generally experiences rain but it is rarely of the torrential variety. In the upper reaches it just drizzles and that too not very occasionally. Temperatures around this time are almost like the previous months. We don’t run trips in the monsoon months. In the post monsoon season (Sep-Dec) the days are sunny with temperatures hovering around (14-22 °C) the evenings start getting cold with the onset of October and nights are comparatively colder (6-14 °C).

Please keep in mind that the above information is not exact and does not account for sudden changes. Whatever the temperatures and conditions rest assured we will be prepared to handle it with ease as we use equipment of very high specifications

The starting point of the trek and the finishing point are easily accessible and very close to Dehradun, which in turn is very well connected with other parts of the country. So close, yet one can reach an altitude of more than 3000 mts and hike in an absolutely remote region with almost no habitation. Another great attraction of Nagtibba trek would be the camping experience.

Nag Tibba trek route has beautiful meadows and thick jungles along the trail offering numerous scenic camping locations. Also this helps in customising the itinerary for people, basis the fitness levels. This trek is suitable for people of all age groups having reasonable fitness.

Nagtibba trek is a fairly moderate trek. The climbing gradient while going up is moderate with a few steep patches in between making this trek suitable for all including enterprising and moderately adventurous families. At Nag Tibba Top you will have the whole place to yourself with just an odd Gujjar/shepherd sharing the magnificent views with you. The panorama of the Himalayan snow peaks of Garhwal and Himachal region is sure to keep you busy with the camera.
