Itinerary -


Day 01: Check in Manali Lodge (2000 m)


    Arrive at Manali and check into the Orchard Guesthouse, Prini .
    Late afternoon go for a short hike.
    Overnight at the guesthouse.


Day 02: Manali(2000 m)-Jobra(2707 m)-Chikha(3000 m) drive 45 mins/2 hrs

    Drive for 45 mins to Jobra .
    Trek a mixed forest trail for 2 hours to Chikha.
    Overnight camp at Chikha.


Day 03: Chikha (3000 m) – Hampta Trail (3000 m -3500 m) - Chikha(3000 m) Trek 8-9 hrs

    Explore the natural beauty of Chikha.
    Trek on Hampta Pass trail as far as possible.
    In the evening trek back to Chikha.
    Overnight camp at Chikha.


DAY 04: Chikha (3000 m) – Jobra (2707 m) - Manali (2000 m) Trek 2 hrs /drive 45 mins

    Soak in the surroundings of Chikha.
    Trek for 2 hours back to Jobra.
    Drive for 45 mins back to the lodge.
    Arrive at the Manali lodge for evening tea.
    Trip ends. Depart for your onward destinations.

Please note: One can also decide to stay an extra night at the guesthouse.

Mountain/adventure travel requires one to be adequately equipped with the right kind of personal gear. Since one is travelling in the wilderness there will be hardly any opportunity to buy anything once you hit the trail so we urge you to carefully pack everything into your bags. Also please keep in mind you can rent out or purchase equipment from our Gear Store, if required..

    Water bottle (sturdy ones, no empty Bisleri bottles!!)
    Cap / Hat to keep the strong sun away from your face

Carry your stuff in a duffel bag, soft shoulder bag or a rucksack. Avoid suitcases, trolleys or any other hard luggage. As you will be walking long distances carrying a rucksack, avoid bringing unnecessary items on the trek. Please avoid carrying expensive watches, jewellery and electronic items on the trek.

Transport Options (Delhi – Manali – Delhi)

For travel from Delhi to Manali & back, one can choose between air, rail & road. For air travel, the closest airport is Bhuntar (Kullu) airport. There are a couple of flights that link this airport to Delhi airport

Train travel though not very popular is available to cover a certain distance. One can either take a train to Pathankot or Jogindernagar (narrow gauge). From both these places one will need to drive to Manali. 

There are frequent Public Transport buses including Volvos available from Delhi to Manali that cost about Rs. 1300 per person. They take about 15 hrs to cover the distance. A private vehicle could also be arranged for if you require the same.

Description


Scale the moderately high Himalayan pass and follow the magnetizing trails to Hampta Pass. Ideal for beginners and seasoned trekkers, this trek is truly unmatchable. One of the shortest hikes, Hampta Pass trail involves walking through lush green meadows, forest foliage and dancing rivulets. While trekking the trails, the ardent roamers get to witness the rare wonders of nature. The gradient is moderate yet interesting to head out to.

This trek starts from Jobra , about 45 mins away from Manali, the backpackers hangout. One hikes across a mixed forest of pine, spruce, deodar, chestnut and maple trees. We trek further and come across shepherd settlements. Crossing a river ortwo, we climb the beautiful meadows and finally reach Chika. Heading forward on the Hampta Pass Trail, we come across boulder sections, wildflowers, waterfalls and captivating pastures.

This trek is much loved by the mountain lovers as it throws open the beauty of nature in the most spectacular ways. A picturesque setting complemented with a rich and diverse flora & fauna , the Hampta Pass trail transports a travelers to a different world altogether. Enveloped in snow in the winters, this trek is an experience, worth to be a part of.
