Itinerary -
Day 01: Arrive Dibrugarh
On arrival at Dibrugarh airport meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, enjoy a pleasure walk near the river bank. An overnight stay the hotel.
Day 02: Dibrugarh
After breakfast, we will have a short presentation on about the variety of tea with its origin, history and cultivation techniques etc.
Later, we will proceed to visit the Mancotta tea estate of Dibrugarh. Here, we will have a pleasure walk within the tea garden while interacting with the people who are working in the estate. Also, we will meet the tea pickers. Most of the tea pickers are Bangladeshi immigrants.
Later, return for lunch. After lunch, we will go on a village walk to get close to the people and their way of livelihood. In the evening, explore the New Market which is located just behind HS Road market and is the biggest shopping area and also has a big food market. In the evening return to lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 03: Dibrugarh
This morning, we will proceed to visit the tea factory at Dibrugarh to observe the full process of manufacturing of CTC (Crush, Tear and Curl) tea. Here, one can try his / her hand on peeking at the tea making machine. Here, you will watch that the labourers are laying out raked leaves to be dried before the fermentation process in a sophisticated manner. Enjoy tea tasting at the factory with collecting a great knowledge of tea making.
Later, return to the lodge for Lunch. After lunch, it’s free time for own activity or one can explore the nearby area. In the evening, enjoy a cultural Bihu program performed by the locals followed by dinner. An overnight stay at lodge or tea bungalow.
Day 04: Dibrugarh - Jorhat
After breakfast, we will leave for Jorhat. En-route we will visit Sivasagar. The capital of Ahom dynasty, Sivasagar is located 60 km before the Jorhat town. Here, we will visit the remains of Ahom Kingdom. The Ahom dynasty ruled Assam for 600 years before giving in to British. Here, we will visit to Tai Ahom Museum and the Maidams (Mummy like structures) of Ahom kings Burial grounds at Charaideo. The other remains of the Ahom Dynasty will be the manmade artificial lake created by Queen Madambika in 1734, Shiva dol-the tallest Shiva temple in the world, palaces of Kareng Ghar and Talatal Ghar, Gaurisagar Tank along with three temples.
Further, continue drive to Jorhat. On arrival check into the Baru sahib tea bungalow. Evening enjoy high tea amidst the tea garden. An overnight stay at tea bungalow.
Day 05: Jorhat
After breakfast we will go for a tour around tea estates of Sangsua. In Sangsua, we will get acquainted with plucking & manufacture of tea and one can also pluck their own tea leaves. After a pleasant visit to the estate we will return back to the bungalow for lunch.
After lunch one can either opt for a visit to the Gibbon’s sanctuary where seven species of primates are found or one can try his / her hand at the 18 hole golf course. In the evening, enjoy high tea in the green pasture of the bungalow. Later, enjoy folk dances followed by dinner. Overnight stay at tea bungalow.
Day 06: Jorhat - Departure
Transfer to the Jorhat airport for onward connection.
